About Allsafe Scaffolding

Allsafe Scaffolding is a leading, NASC-accredited scaffolding contractor based in Banbury, working with some of the UK’s leading construction companies across Oxfordshire, the Midlands and nationally.

We pride ourselves on building honest relationships, delivering quality, demonstrating professional excellence and leading responsibly. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Scaffolding Contracts Manager to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our projects.

The Role

As Scaffolding Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operational and commercial management of multiple scaffolding projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.

You will manage a team of approximately 20-30 operatives, working closely with our Project Director, Senior Projects Manager, Operations team, H&S team and customers.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who understands scaffolding, enjoys working with people and is confident managing multiple projects, programmes and priorities at the same time.

A key part of the role will be developing and supporting your team, including labour planning, recruitment, training and mentoring, while ensuring our high standards of health & safety and workmanship are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational and commercial management of allocated contracts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, labour requirements, quality and customer expectations.
  • Plan and allocate labour effectively, identifying future requirements and potential shortfalls at an early stage.
  • Monitor project activity, costs, performance and turnover.
  • Liaise directly with customers to understand their requirements and ensure programmes and works are delivered effectively.
  • Attend site visits and view projects for pricing and tender opportunities.
  • Manage recruitment of scaffolders and apprentices, supporting development, mentoring and training plans.
  • Lead and develop your team, setting clear expectations and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure scaffolders are appropriately trained and competent in the use of company systems and processes.
  • Monitor stock levels across projects, ensuring materials are managed effectively and sites are kept organised and tidy.
  • Work closely with other Managers and Directors to ensure the smooth running of the wider business.
  • Review and authorise weekly wages and ensure completed works meet the required standards.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety is at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for ensuring our projects and teams operate in accordance with Allsafe's high standards and relevant industry guidance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring effective project handovers are completed and signed off.
  • Ensuring scaffolders receive appropriate inductions and understand the scope of works.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and ensuring actions are closed out within the required timescales.
  • Holding regular toolbox talks and training needs assessments.
  • Working closely with our H&S team to coordinate audits and address any issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry guidance, including TG20 and SG4.
  • Maintaining the high standards expected of an NASC-accredited contractor.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced scaffolding professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and people-management skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a scaffolding management or Contracts Manager role.
  • A strong understanding of scaffolding operations and design requirements.
  • Knowledge of TG20:21, SG4:22 and bespoke scaffold design.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • The confidence to manage challenging situations and resolve conflict professionally.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • A strong customer-service focus.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • A current UK driving licence.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred, although training and development will be provided where required:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Advanced Scaffold Inspection Card
  • Advanced Scaffolder Card
  • Gold Supervisor Card
