DESCRIPTION
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of creative and hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and feels confident speaking with customers face-to-face, over the phone and by email.
Allprint Services is a small, long-established print business based in Liverpool city centre. We’ve been serving local businesses and individuals since 1980, and we’re looking for someone with strong design skills who’s confident using a Mac and Adobe software — but also happy to get involved across the shop floor.
You don’t need any agency experience — what matters most is solid design ability, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. This isn’t a sit-at-your-desk-all-day role. One minute you’ll be working on a customer’s artwork, the next you might be advising a walk-in client, answering the phone, or setting up a print job.
We’re a friendly, down-to-earth team with long-standing customer relationships. You’ll get real exposure to the full print process — from artwork setup to production and finishing — and gain valuable hands-on experience along the way. We’re not a big corporate company with flashy perks, but we look after our team and value people who give their best.
There’s also scope to grow your design responsibilities over time if you’re keen to learn and take on more.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and amending artwork for printed materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, menus and stationery — as well as handling supplied print-ready files.
- Using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat to prepare print-ready artwork.
- Operating our digital copiers and large format printer, and managing basic print production tasks.
- Handling walk-in enquiries and advising customers face to face.
- Answering the phone professionally and clearly.
- Responding to email enquiries and keeping jobs organised and on track.
- Developing good relationships with customers and encouraging repeat business.
- Supporting the manager and being willing to chip in wherever needed.
- Assisting with print finishing tasks when required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
- Experience preparing artwork for print is ideal — but we’re happy to train the right person with the right mindset.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Comfortable handling customer communication by phone and email.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Highly motivated and willing to learn.
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Friendly and professional communicator.
- Reliable, punctual and with strong attendance.
- A team player, happy to work flexibly in a live print shop environment.
