As we continue to develop, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to manage the vehicle maintenance cost and compliance operations for our fleet of 1400 vehicles and trailers.

About the role

You will be responsible for supervising all aspects of vehicle maintenance, including cost control, compliance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs and play a crucial role in maximising uptime and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

What you will be doing:

In summary you will be responsible for vehicle slippage and compliance, cost control, service intervals, estimates and approval, invoices, vehicle supplier invoice approval, recovery management, & VOR time. To include the following:

  • Vehicle Slippage & Compliance: Ensure vehicles meet Operator Licence obligations proactively tracking and smoothing out replacement schedules.
  • Cost Control: To be responsible for maintenance cost approval, minimise maintenance spend and escalate any areas of concern to the Fleet Engineer.
  • Service Intervals: Manage and check commercial vehicle maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance checks so vehicles operate reliably. Audit and ensure services are carried out at correct intervals.
  • Supervise Estimates & Recharge process: Handle out of contract invoices, and process chargebacks effectively.
  • Vehicle Supplier Invoice Approval: Review, audit, and supervise approval of invoices from suppliers in line with agreed SLA’s in conjunction with Fleet Engineer.
  • Recovery Control: Oversee roadside assistance, vehicle rescue, and recovery processes to ensure costs are reasonable without compromising on customer experience in conjunction with the Fleet Engineer.
  • VOR Time: Actively manage and minimise Vehicle Off Road (VOR) time by coordinating closely with workshops and suppliers.
  • TEAM Leading: Working collaboratively with Maintenance Management, lead, supervise, and develop the team of maintenance controllers and planners, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver an outstanding customer experience in all areas.

  • Experience within commercial vehicle maintenance or a similar role within the transportation industry
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
