Allports Rental operates a growing fleet of more than 1,800 Vans, Trucks and Trailers throughout the UK. We offer a full range of Contract Hire and Rental services providing tailor‑made transport solutions to our expanding customer base.

Due to exciting growth in the business, we are seeking a HGV Vehicle Driver and Checker to join the Rental Operations team based at our Fradley Park Lichfield Rental Centre.

About the role:

Monday – Friday (45 hours) 06:00am – 16:00pm

Responsibilities include:

  • Checking rental assets in and out using our App system.
  • Ensuring operational safety of equipment like straps and tail lifts.
  • Maintaining neat parking in the yard area.
  • Conducting twice daily yard checks.
  • Assisting with moving vehicles.
  • Fuelling, loading/unloading and cleaning assets.
  • Occasional driving for deliveries or collections.
  • Customer service is emphasized as polite, courteous, and helpful.

Key activities and objectives:

  • The role supports customer satisfaction by maintaining rental fleet readiness and cleanliness, accurate asset check‑in/out procedures, adherence to site rules, reporting defects promptly, and providing driving cover during holidays.
  • Organising vehicles to a ready‑to‑rent stage with correct signage and ensuring all equipment functions correctly are also key tasks.
  • Team spirit and communication within the rental department and other company departments are crucial.

To succeed in this role applicants must be: an excellent communicator and able to work well both as part of a team.

  • HGV 1 Licence
