Your Role

My client in the Inverclyde area is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our machine shop. If you're time-served, can set and run your own jobs, and take pride in producing quality components to tight tolerances, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and running CNC lathes
  • Programming at the machine when required
  • Working from engineering drawings and tight tolerances
  • Making offsets and programme changes as needed
  • Keeping jobs running efficiently and safely
  • Completing job paperwork and recording labour hours
  • Working with the Team Leader and Supervisor to hit delivery dates
  • Keeping your area clean, organised, and safe
  • Helping train and support others when needed

About you

  • Time-served CNC Machinist (or equivalent experience)
  • Confident reading engineering drawings
  • Able to work accurately with minimal supervision
  • Fanuc experience preferred but not essential
  • CNC Vertical Borer experience an advantage
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to muck in as part of a team
  • Must have a good understanding of engineering drawings and ability to work to tight tolerances

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and Fri 8am-1pm (dayshift) and Mon-Thurs 9:45pm-8am for nightshift with a 33% shift increase. High Overtime Potential (Average circa 17hrs OT per week, midweek & weekend)

Salary: £36,655.24

Experience: Plastic experience (Ideal) not essential, Doosan Lathes, Fanuc Control System
