The opportunity involves being part of the Engineering Department and reporting to the Chief Engineer. You will be tasked with ensuring the ongoing availability of the plant, machinery, and equipment, as well as fulfilling the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules.
You will be a time-served engineer with an electrical bias and will be expected to work on both electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns and repairs. A background within a manufacturing environment would be preferable, with an 80/20 split between mechanical and electrical work.
Electrical equipment will mostly include Siemens, Servo Drives, Servo Motors, and AC/DC Units. You will be required to work as part of a team and independently, possessing good communication skills.
Overtime will be required to cover holidays and absences within the department, as well as at weekends for preventative maintenance tasks. The hours of work average 39 hours and 40 minutes per week over a three-shift continuous rotation:
- Night Shift: 10pm to 6am Sunday Night to Thursday Night
- Early Shift: 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday
- Back Shift: 2pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 7pm on Friday
Benefits include a yearly salary of £38.6k, a health care scheme, a group personal pension scheme, and 23 days of holidays plus 10 fixed days.
