Head of Financial Crime and Regulatory Operations in Hereford

Hereford Full-Time On-site

We are looking for an experienced Head of Financial Crime and Regulatory Operations to lead a critical part of our Governance function.
Reporting to the Governance Director, you will bring together Financial Crime, Client Due Diligence, Client Operations and Regulatory Compliance, providing clear leadership and ensuring we have effective, proportionate controls that support both our regulatory responsibilities and our commercial ambitions.
You will set the direction for the function, provide senior-level advice and challenge, oversee material regulatory and financial crime risks, and use insight, data and continuous improvement to strengthen the way we operate.
A key focus will be developing an emerging team, building its capability, confidence and professional standards as the function continues to mature.
This is a visible leadership role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business. We are an office-first organisation, so we’re looking for someone who values being present, building strong relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues face-to-face.

About You

You will be a confident and credible leader who combines strong financial crime and regulatory expertise with sound commercial judgement.
We are looking for someone who can:

• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams in a regulated environment.
• Bring strong knowledge of AML, sanctions, fraud, due diligence, safeguarding and regulatory controls.
• Translate complex regulation into clear, practical and proportionate solutions.
• Provide credible challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
• Spot emerging risks and turn insight into action.
• Balance strong regulatory outcomes with an effective client and business experience.

You will be comfortable operating at a senior level, but equally happy getting close enough to the detail to understand where change is needed.
