We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Site Grounds Person to take ownership of the maintenance and presentation of our 5.5 acre site. With approximately 115,000 sq ft of landscaped grounds, including green spaces, seating areas and a kitchen garden, you will play a key role in creating an attractive, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and the public. This is a varied, hands‑on role combining horticulture, landscaping and site upkeep, where your work will directly contribute to our customer experience and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grounds & Plant Care – maintaining lawns, planting beds, trees, hedges; maintaining seasonal planting displays and monitoring and treating plant pests, diseases and soil conditions.
  • Landscaping & Site Maintenance – maintain hard landscape areas such as pathways, seating areas, patio & water features; carry out seasonal duties such as leaf clearance and general site tidying, ensuring all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and ready to open each day.
  • Contractor & Stakeholder Management – act as the main point of contact for outsourced landscaping contractors and work with internal teams and outside outlets to maintain high presentation standards.
  • Equipment & Safety – safely operate and maintain grounds equipment; carry out routine maintenance and safety checks on tools; follow H&S procedures including COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Planning & Reporting – keep accurate records of maintenance, chemical use, and planting schedules; support planning of seasonal works and report improvements to management.

About You

  • Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or ground maintenance.
  • Proven plant knowledge including pruning, soil management, and pest control.
  • Ability to use grounds machinery and equipment.
  • This role requires physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail‑focused.
  • NVQ or qualification in horticulture – desirable.
  • PA1 / PA6 pesticide certification – desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence – desirable.

Working Environment

Outdoor role across a large, active commercial site, interactions with staff, visitors, and members of the public. Flexibility required to support seasonal demands and occasional events.
