Carriages is a unique award-winning destination restaurant nestled on the outskirts of Hereford, providing a fine dining experience to all our guests. We are looking for a Front of House Waiter/Waitress to join our team. This part‑time position covers 20 hours on Thursday, Friday & Saturday with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting guests in making menu selections by offering recommendations and answering questions, accurately recording orders/special requests ensuring clarity and precision.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to presentation standards.
- Monitor tables to anticipate and fulfil guests needs, including refilling water glasses, providing extra utensils, etc.
- Keep dining areas clean, organised and aesthetically pleasing at all times, clear and reset tables.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and other service staff to ensure smooth flow of orders.
- Prepare alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, mixers and garnishes.
- Process payment, present bills to guests in a polite and professional manner, adhering to procedures.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation and health regulations at all times.
- Maintain professional grooming standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in a fine dining restaurant or upscale hospitality environment is preferred.
- Proven effective communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Proven knowledge of food and beverage offerings, particularly wines preferred, although training can be provided.
- Proven experience of attention to detail and a commitment to providing impeccable service.
- Previous knowledge of measurements and proportions for mixing drinks, preferable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
