Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of around 150 world-class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers. Operating across two locations in the UK and one in the US, we are building the future of advanced metal components. Our innovative approach integrates proprietary software that combines advanced machine learning and physical modeling with extensive experimental facilities, enabling us to 3D print metal components more efficiently and effectively than anyone else.
Our facilities in Yarnton and Abingdon, near Oxford, are dedicated to establishing the world's fastest, smartest, and best-equipped environment for the rapid development of additively manufactured parts and the creation of novel metal alloys for enhanced performance. We serve a variety of sectors including electronics, aerospace, and industrial by leveraging our cutting-edge technology to build businesses across diverse markets, each with unique requirements, timelines, customers, and cultures.
Alloyed is seeking to grow its software engineering team. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative team of developers and machine learning engineers. You will gain hands-on experience throughout the full agile development lifecycle, working closely with engineers across the organization to build cutting-edge software platforms that drive process automation and optimisation in additive manufacturing and beyond.
You will be based at the Oxford Pioneer Park in north Oxford. Training will be provided where required. This is a fully on-site role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support Alloyed's novel software platforms for:
- Data management, visualisation and analysis
- Optimisation of additive manufacturing processes
- Component design and build preparation
Requirements
- Strong technical background with a degree in science, engineering, mathematics or computer science (2:1 minimum)
- Proficient in the use of C#, C++ or Python
- Good understanding of software design patterns, best practices and principles
- Practical experience of test-driven development
- Strong interest in model development and applied engineering
- Good knowledge of at least one object-oriented language
- Highly effective communicator who encourages innovation through collaboration
- Natural problem-solver with a desire to learn
- Organised and self-motivated
- Proficient in the use of:
- ASP.NET Core and/or Blazor
- Working with 3D data
- WPF
- Machine learning
- Version control
- Continuous integration and deployment
