Role Overview

Argive, a division of Alloyed is currently designing microturbine engines for a range of jet propulsion applications. The products use additive manufacturing to increase performance compared to state‑of‑the‑art incorporating complex designs and proprietary high‑temperature materials, including nickel superalloys. Alloyed is seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development of microturbines, focusing on the mechanical design of engines. This role involves close collaboration with experimental teams to validate and improve designs.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and iterating on 3D CAD models of components and assemblies, ensuring alignment with functional and manufacturing requirements
  • Developing and releasing detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing, inspection, and assembly
  • Leading mechanical layout and packaging of components within spatial, thermal, and structural constraints
  • Leading design reviews, maintaining high standards of clarity and accuracy
  • Maintaining organized version control and file management within PLM/CAD environments
  • Assisting in rapid prototyping and design‑for‑manufacture evaluations during early development phases
  • Leading reliability engineering activities within the design group; guiding and coaching junior engineers in root‑cause analysis and reliability engineering best practices

Essential skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Considerable industry experience in a mechanical/product design role
  • Highly proficient in CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion, Siemens NX, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) principles, in particular for rotating components
  • Experience producing technical drawings to relevant standards (e.g. GD&T, ISO/ASME)
  • Excellent problem‑solving and design iteration skills
  • Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage design tasks independently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross‑functional teams
