Role Overview
Alloyed is seeking a dedicated, hands‑on Logistics Operative to join our team and support operations in Abingdon. As a Logistics Operative, you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑tech components to our customers in an agile way, meeting project deadlines. Your primary responsibilities include receiving deliveries, packing, dispatching and tracking shipments, as well as keeping the goods‑in/out area well stocked with required consumables.
Responsibilities
- Keep the goods‑in/out area organised, tidy and running smoothly, supporting 5S improvements and resolving layout or workflow issues.
- Handle all goods‑in to the building, conduct inspections where required and ensure they are delivered to the right person or department in a timely manner.
- Pack products according to the packing specification, ensuring relevant paperwork is updated to maintain good product traceability.
- Support the development of new packing specifications and pack parts without a specification appropriately to ensure they reach their destination without damage.
- Arrange shipments, preparing necessary paperwork, delivery notes and labelling.
- Monitor and maintain inventory in the goods‑out area, ensuring continuous availability of appropriate packing materials.
- Communicate shipment status effectively with stakeholders at all levels across operations and engineering.
- Oversee forklift maintenance with the leasing company, arrange repairs and maintain daily check systems for all trained drivers.
- Manage collection of waste from the facility following established procedures.
- Maintain good health and safety standards in the goods‑in/out area and challenge unsafe working practices.
Essential Skills
- Experience in a logistics or warehousing role.
