Allium Environmental Ltd is a UKAS accredited inspection body specializing in asbestos surveying in accordance with HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide. The company delivers a full range of asbestos surveys to support safe building occupation, refurbishment, and demolition, forming a critical foundation for asbestos management. Surveys and related services are carried out by a qualified and experienced team, including BOHS‑certified surveyors and analysts. Allium Environmental Ltd also operates a UKAS accredited testing laboratory (No. 6093) to provide asbestos testing, air sampling, and fibre counting using robust, accredited procedures. The organization is committed to technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality service for clients across a range of environments.

This is a full‑time, on‑site Asbestos Surveyor role based all over the south west and south east. The Asbestos Surveyor will conduct a variety of asbestos surveys (including management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys) in line with HSG 264 and company procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting buildings, identifying and sampling suspected asbestos‑containing materials, recording findings accurately, and preparing clear, concise survey reports.
  • Liaising with clients and site contacts, ensuring that health and safety procedures are followed at all times, and contributing to wider asbestos compliance management where required.
  • Working closely with the laboratory and analytical teams to support accurate testing and timely delivery of results.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in asbestos surveying, including management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys, with strong understanding of HSG 264 and asbestos regulations.
  • Relevant BOHS (or equivalent) asbestos surveying qualification (e.g., P402) and a full, valid UK driving licence for site‑based work.
  • Strong technical skills in building inspections, sample collection, and use of survey and reporting software or digital tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear reports and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Good organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to plan site visits, manage multiple projects, and work independently on‑site.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety practices, risk assessments, and safe working procedures in a variety of building environments.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to data recording, documentation, and compliance with quality management systems.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, occasionally work flexible hours, and undertake ongoing professional development and training.
  • Previous experience within an accredited inspection body or testing laboratory environment is advantageous.
