Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, the Group FP&A Manager is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and providing financial guidance to senior management.
This role involves developing and implementing financial models, tracking key performance indicators, and presenting financial insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans across the group working closely with our regional finance teams.
- Performance Analysis: Track KPIs, monitor performance against budget, and identify areas for improvement both at a group and regional level.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, the board and our investors.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with other departments and our regional teams to align financial plans with business objectives.
- Strategic Support: Contribute to strategic initiatives, including investment appraisals, M&A analysis, and business restructuring.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of FP&A analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Project Budgeting: Develop and analyse budgets for individual housebuilding projects, considering factors like land costs, construction costs, and sales forecasts.
What you will bring
- Professional Qualification:Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), ideally with FP&A, Management Accounts, and team leadership responsibilities.
- Experience:Several years of experience in FP&A, preferably within the construction or housebuilding industry.
- Skills:Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
- System Skills:Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, experience with COINS or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Organisational Skills:Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential financial risks associated with housebuilding projects, such as changes in material costs or construction delays.
- Collaborative Communicator:Confident team player with the ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
- Commercial Awareness:Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge and interpret cost movements and budget variances.
