Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to the responsibilities outlined below.

Applicants must show a sound understanding of the Section 38, Section 278 and Section 104 processes, supported by a strong foundation in engineering principles. This includes a working knowledge of NHBC Standards and service infrastructure requirements.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the adoption process and confidently chair meetings with relevant statutory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support across Technical, Commercial, Land, Sales and Build teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Commission and coordinate all required site surveys, reports and specialist studies (including archaeology, ecology and acoustics), ensuring outputs are fully integrated into design information.
  • Manage pre-construction information, risk registers, site fees and technical budgets.
  • Coordinate and attend design, engineering, pre-start and site progress meetings as required.
  • Review and approve engineering designs (roads, sewers, drainage, levels and utilities) for technical approvals, procurement and compliance with planning, Building Regulations and NHBC/LABC standards, identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinate utility disconnections, diversions and new service connections, including designs, quotations and final surfacing activities.
  • Administer S38, S278 and S104 agreements, bonds and sewer requisitions through to adoption, including POS adoption, management company handovers and inspections with relevant authorities.
  • Undertake regular site inspections to ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, safety legislation and company policies, and that testing and validation requirements are met.
  • Support procurement by obtaining service designs and quotations and closely monitoring the design programme.
  • Manage handover of adoptable and managed areas, including landscaping and play spaces, to management companies.

Education in a construction or engineering-related discipline.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills with attention to detail.

Full UK driving licence.
