The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality breast imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes patient care, equipment operation, and quality assurance within the imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mammography procedures following department protocols
- Ensure compliance with FDA and radiation safety (ALARA) standards
- Maintain QA records, accreditation documentation, and reporting systems
- Review patient history and provide education before procedures
- Verify physician orders and patient identification
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Assist with workflow improvements and departmental operations
