Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to enquiries from brokers received by phone, e-mail or online platform in a courteous and helpful manner ensuring all information to enable the underwriting of any risk is obtained and filed correctly.
- Ensure receipt of and review of outstanding information (including the underlying / followed policies) to ensure consistency with the terms and conditions agreed at binding.
- Regular liaison with our claims team to ensure underwriters have up to date claims information on all renewal accounts.
- Conduct referrals to the compliance department in conjunction with the underwriters to ensure all risks are subject to any required checks.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of the underwriting files to ensure that all the required documentation is present and accounted for.
- Accountable for ensuring that the underwriting files are kept in an orderly manner and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and in conjunction with the underwriters.
- Maintain frequent dialogue with the Underwriting Operations team to ensure that files are maintained at the expected and required level of completeness.
- Assist with the creation and updating of business logs and other tools as required.
- Liaise regularly with our credit control team and work with them to resolve any issues with late premium payment, taxes or reconciliation.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current affairs and market trends through individual research and team discussions.
Person Specification:
- Excellent analytical skills and an understanding of pricing & actuarial models and methods.
- Must be highly articulate, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required for daily liaison with clients and brokers and building strong working relationships.
- Strong marketing and business development capability; commercial acumen, ability to influence and negotiate to various levels of seniority, internally and externally.
- Highly computer literate within MS office applications and an advanced level proficiency using underwriting systems such as Genius and Openbox an advantage.
- Methodical approach to work, strong organisation skills; capable of dealing with tight reporting deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Overall team player with collaborative outlook.
- Ideally 1 year+ Insurance Experience.
