Responsibilities

  • Understand the business and user needs, manage priorities, and establish the product vision.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps, release plans, and backlogs.
  • Translate business needs into user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Create and leverage business cases to understand and quantify the value of features.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders and users, and assess their impact and interests.
  • Provide regular updates on strategic and tactical plans, including roadmap reviews and demos.
  • Grow the Agile Practice at Allied World by working with teams to adopt agile practices.
  • Participate in the IT community to bring new ideas and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with product development experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance domains (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a product role.
  • Experience defining epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for complex solutions.
  • Experience with underwriting and pricing projects, knowledge of PAS systems like Duck Creek, Guidewire, and pricing systems such as Rulebook.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting and pricing business functions, processes, and strategies.
  • Experience with management systems and workflow applications.
  • Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, including architecture, security, SDLC, and portfolio management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both business and technical contexts.
  • Skills as a change agent with research, data analysis, and user research capabilities.
  • Organizational and time management skills to ensure quality, delivery, and effective teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills for facilitating discussions, developing materials, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficiency in design thinking, agile thinking, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
