At Allied Vehicles we design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses.

In addition to manufacturing vehicles, we also offer a range of aftersales services (onsite and mobile), including servicing, repairs and maintenance and we are Scotland’s largest independent parts distributor.

We are now recruiting for Machine Operator to join our Pre-Production department.

You will ensure parts are manufactured to exact engineering drawings and specifications by using machinery safely in a controlled manufacturing environment.

Hours of work are Monday to Wednesday, 7am – 6pm and Thursday, 7am – 5.30pm and the salary is £13.45 per hour + bonus.

The main duties of the role are

  • Adhere to job cards and complete all work in accordance with information provided, paying attention to the order of work and the time allowed.
  • Strive to complete all work in accordance with standard allowed times and report any delays to Supervisor.
  • Report any faulty or broken components/machinery to Supervisor immediately.
  • Comply with quality control systems, methods and documentation.

To be effective in this role, you will have

  • Previous experience of operating machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of machinery capabilities, controls and safe use in manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to follow and replicate detail on engineering piece part drawings.

Previous experience of general mechanical assembly tasks would be advantageous but is not essential.
