At Allied Vehicles we design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses. In addition to manufacturing vehicles, we also offer a range of aftersales services (onsite and mobile), including servicing, repairs and maintenance and we are Scotland’s largest independent parts distributor. We are now recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our HR team.
You will support the HR function and provide guidance to employees and managers across the business. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – from advising on people issues to promoting wellbeing initiatives and ensuring accurate HR processes. This role will be based fully on-site. Being on-site means you’ll work closely with managers and teams, see the impact of your work as it happens, and help shape day-to-day culture and performance. HR is an important part of the operation here, and your role will make a real difference across the site. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm and the salary is circa £33,600 per annum. The main duties of the role are:
- Provide proactive HR guidance to managers, supporting them in resolving people-related issues effectively.
- Lead and conduct investigations in line with company policies and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with business objectives.
- Maintain accurate and timely data within the HRIS and other departmental systems.
- Champion employee wellbeing and engagement by designing and delivering initiatives and events that foster a positive workplace culture.
- Coach and support people managers to strengthen leadership capability and enhance team performance.
- Prepare and issue employment documentation - including letters, contracts, and addendums - while ensuring payroll receives all pay-impacting changes promptly.
- Assist with payroll administration, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in all data processing.
- Deliver general HR administration and support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the department.
To be effective in this role, you will have:
- A CIPD qualification or equivalent experience in HR.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing or a comparable industry.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and the ability to apply it effectively in practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging at all levels of the organisation.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and delivering solutions.
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
