Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Shift in Elgin, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic food and beverage location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, delivering outstanding customer service, supporting a secure environment by responding to incidents and assisting with access control.

What You’ll Do

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the food and beverage facility and around its perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols within the location.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and vendors with access control procedures as required by site-specific guidelines.
  • Support Allied Universal management and client representatives by communicating incidents, potential risks, and security-related concerns promptly.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and post orders specific to the food and beverage environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
