Job Description
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Shift in Elgin, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic food and beverage location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, delivering outstanding customer service, supporting a secure environment by responding to incidents and assisting with access control.

What You’ll Do
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the food and beverage facility and around its perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
- Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols within the location.
- Assist visitors, employees, and vendors with access control procedures as required by site-specific guidelines.
- Support Allied Universal management and client representatives by communicating incidents, potential risks, and security-related concerns promptly.
- Follow all Allied Universal policies and post orders specific to the food and beverage environment.

Minimum Requirements
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
