If you enjoy a varied workload in a fast-paced environment and want to be part of a fantastic team then this role could be for you. Working as part of the Test Team you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our product and delivering excellent customer service.

Overview of Role

Working for the Head of Test and QA you will be responsible for the successful performance of a variety of tasks which are required for product testing. You will work on key business testing projects and be responsible for ensuring they remain on track, providing regular status updates and update reports as required. You will be required to complete manual product tests following a strict set of requirements to ensure the product meets the necessary standards of operation and functionality. You will be accountable for the quality of tests and ensuring that all testing is completed in the required timeframe in line with development and commercial requirements. You will be a key contributor to continuous improvement of our products and the department's QMS processes.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Review Project Requirements (in all forms) and design tests ensuring traceability.
  • Review Test artefacts produced by the test team and provide constructive feedback.
  • Execute tests and record results in a logical manner with supporting evidence.
  • Produce and archive Test Results / Test Completion reports once testing is complete.
  • Attend Project meetings as required.
  • Provide weekly status report to the Head of Test and QA.
  • Provide updates, comments or feedback requested from other members of Project teams.
  • Be proactive at all times and ensure test schedules meet the business needs.
  • Support other test team members / departments (IT, Operations and Production) as required.
  • Ensure that all products tested meet their requirements and work well for end users.
  • Ensure a strong understanding of the full product portfolio of the company’s products.
  • Maintain up to date understanding of the test methodologies applicable to the role and products range.
  • When required, report any defects / bugs / issues uncovered during testing in a clear and consistent manner.
  • Share knowledge, successes and failures with team members.
  • Testing completed and recorded for Hardware and Firmware.

Key Competencies

  • Ability to work independently as required as well as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and QA best practices.
  • Develop and execute system-level test plans, procedures and test cases based on a deep understanding of products and sensors.
  • Perform integration, regression and E2E testing across hardware and web applications across different browsers.
  • Solid SQL skills for back-end/data validation on SQL server.
  • Experience with Jira for requirements and defect management.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in manual testing.
  • ISEB Foundation Cert.
  • Minimum of 4 years working in an Engineering / IT environment.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels – both internal and external.
  • Ability to write Detailed Test Plans and Test Completion Reports.

Desirable Skills

  • Degree or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
  • Programming Skills.
  • Technical experience in a relevant field.
  • Security Testing.
  • Performance Testing.
  • Test Automation.
