As a Part‑time Security Officer, you will patrol assigned areas, remain visible to deter security incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will support a professional environment through teamwork, integrity, and reliability in a fast‑paced maritime setting.
Position type: Part time
Pay rate: $17.25 per hour
Schedule: Mon 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Fri 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, or critical situations calmly, document observations, and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and support control of vehicle and/or pedestrian traffic according to site policies and post orders.
- Communicate with supervisors, local contacts, and public personnel regarding incidents, disruptions, maintenance issues, and other conditions that could impact daily operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A TSA‑issued TWIC is required.
- Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo background investigation pursuant to all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Undergo drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
