As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Driver in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support staff and visitors with courteous service, and communicate concerns clearly. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy requirements.

Pay Rate: $17.57 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disputes, and/or disruptive behavior, and report concerns per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and assisting with visitor management processes as assigned.
  • Complete required documentation such as shift logs, incident reports, and patrol activity records, and communicate security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
