As a Security Officer TWIC Access Associate in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic government maritime location, where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols to help support a secure environment. In this role, you will remain visible, help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTime Thur 11:00 AM - 05:30 PM; Fri 01:30 PM - 09:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, screen visitors, and document authorized access in support of restricted area protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, surrounding grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify potential issues and/or policy violations.
  • Prepare clear reports of daily activities, visitor interactions, and/or security-related incidents while following post orders and site instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
