As a Security Officer Access Coordinator in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will help manage access control, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. In this role, you will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, team-focused culture built on agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

  • Mon 12:00 PM - 07:00 PM
  • Wed 12:00 PM - 07:00 PM
  • Sat 01:30 PM - 09:30 PM
  • Sun 01:30 PM - 09:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or authorized personnel by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity to help support authorized access throughout the location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details according to site protocols.
  • Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or the public regarding access procedures, restricted areas, and security-related concerns while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, checkpoints, and perimeter areas as assigned, noting conditions and reporting issues that could impact daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
