Job Description

Job Title: Security Guard – Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)

Location: Guildford – Surrey, BC Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Wage: $21.00 to $21.50 per hour

Schedule Options:

  • Sunday to Wednesday: 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • OR
  • Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. & Friday/Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety patrols to identify hazards or OH&S violations
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with WorkSafeBC and site-specific safety policies
  • Support investigations into workplace injuries, accidents, or near-miss incidents
  • Accurately document and report all safety findings and incidents using internal systems
  • Liaise with property management and contractors regarding unsafe conditions or repair needs
  • Respond to incidents (e.g. slips, falls, medical emergencies) following appropriate protocols
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, including evacuations, drills, and incident simulations
  • Monitor contractor safety practices, including proper PPE use and adherence to safe work practices
  • Stay familiar with site emergency routes, fire panel locations, and first aid resources
  • Collaborate with other security staff to uphold a safe and welcoming environment

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Security Worker License
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification (Occupational First Aid Level 1 or higher preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC OH&S Regulations
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience in OH&S, safety, or regulatory compliance roles is a strong asset
  • Proficient with digital incident reporting tools and basic computer applications
