Now, we’re looking for skilled Customer Service Representatives to join our growing production team.
The Macintosh Prepress Operator is responsible for preparing, verifying, and processing customer files for high-quality commercial print production using Macintosh-based prepress systems and industry-standard software. This role ensures all digital files meet production specifications, performs preflight checks, color management, imposition, proofing, and plate-ready file preparation while maintaining accuracy, quality, and production deadlines in a fast-paced printing environment.
What You'll Do:
- Perform digital prepress functions including preflight and review of client-supplied files for proper file format, color break, fonts, and graphics to ensure they conform to client/printer specs.
- Identify missing or problem components and communicate to appropriate internal staff.
- Review customer-supplied files for accuracy, completeness, and printability using industry-standard preflight software.
- Prepare files for offset, digital and variable data output. Add bleeds, convert colors, silhouette, color correct and profile images; create, clean up or apply die lines; manipulate pages for various binding and finishing (saddle-stitch, perfect bind, score, fold, etc.).
- Create and verify impositions for sheetfed, web, and digital printing applications.
- Perform color correction and color management to ensure accurate reproduction throughout the production process.
- Generate and distribute digital and hard-copy proofs for customer and internal approvals.
- Troubleshoot file issues, artwork discrepancies, font conflicts, image resolution problems, and other prepress-related challenges.
- Export files in proper format for prepress RIP system.
What you Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in a commercial printing prepress environment.
- Certificate, associate's degree, or equivalent training in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with Macintosh operating systems and Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop.
- Experience with Kodak Prinergy, Heidelberg Prinect, EFI Fiery, DALiM, GMG Color or similar workflow systems.
- Familiarity with G7 color standards and color calibration practices.
