Pharmacy Assistant
Are you a friendly, people-focused individual who enjoys helping others? Meanwood Pharmacy is looking for a Counter Assistant to join our welcoming team and play a key part in delivering excellent service to our local community.
As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you'll help create a warm, professional atmosphere where people feel cared for and supported with their health and wellbeing needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service at the counter
- Advise on over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products within your remit, referring to the pharmacist when needed
- Process sales accurately and handle till transactions
- Receive and hand out prescriptions in line with pharmacy procedures
- Keep the shop floor tidy, well-stocked and attractively presented
- Support the wider pharmacy team with day-to-day tasks as required
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all relevant policies and procedures
What we're looking for:
- A positive, approachable manner and genuine desire to help people
- Strong communication skills and the ability to listen carefully to customer needs
- A reliable, organised approach with good attention to detail
- The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
- Previous experience in retail, customer service or a pharmacy setting is welcome, but not essential - full training will be provided
- Willingness to complete the Medicines Counter Assistant course if not already qualified
- Flexibility, as this role does include Saturdays
