Pharmacy Assistant
Are you looking to start or grow your career in community pharmacy? Allied Pharmacy in Whitby is seeking a friendly and reliable Pharmacy Assistant to join our welcoming team. In this varied role, you'll be at the heart of the pharmacy, supporting our pharmacists and dispensing team while providing a warm, professional service to every customer who walks through our doors.
Key responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with queries at the counter in a courteous, helpful manner
- Receive and process prescriptions, following all relevant procedures
- Support the dispensing team with the accurate assembly of medicines
- Sell over-the-counter medicines responsibly, offering advice where appropriate and referring to the pharmacist when needed
- Help maintain stock levels, including ordering, receiving deliveries and rotating stock
- Keep the pharmacy clean, tidy and well-presented at all times
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and care
What we're looking for:
- A friendly, approachable manner and genuine commitment to customer service
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a small team
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
- Reliability, trustworthiness and a willingness to learn
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is welcome but not essential
- A relevant pharmacy qualification (such as NVQ Level 2) would be an advantage, or a willingness to work towards one
