We have a great opportunity for a Site Operative to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service on behalf of our flour mill in Manchester. As a key member of the Milling Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of consistently high quality products, in a safe, efficient and cost-effective environment. This role covers all aspects of production from blending and testing of finished flour, food safety checks, mill maintenance, implementing milling best practice and seeking continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out Mill Food/Feed Safety Checks which include the HACCP Critical Control Points (CCP's).
- Support the Miller with the daily running of the Mill which includes carrying out planned milling maintenance (e.g., cleaning out sifters, purifiers and roller mills).
- Monitor all Mill processes in the control room using the computer system and respond to, rectify (first fix) and report all faults.
- Self-manage holidays and cover for shift changes.
- Warehouse support duties to include Flour Packing, Forklift and Re-mill.
- Support Weighbridge cover when required.
- Support laboratory with out of hours QA checks to maintain product quality.
- Actively contribute to site standards and respective internal and external audits.
- Ensuring a clean as you go approach at all times.
- Demonstrate the 'Safety First' approach at all times.
- Be proactive with hazard reporting, working with site team to target Zero Harm.
- Expect to take part in UK flour millers correspondence course with the aim to complete the 4 modules within 5 years.
