Location/Office Policy: 70 St Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8BE with Hybrid Working (minimum 2 days per week in office)

What is the Role:

The role is within the Corporate Restructuring team in Financial Solutions Group (“FSG”). The aim of the team is to support and restructure (where appropriate) corporate customers across a number of key sectors who may be in financial difficulty. We seek to intervene early in each case, undertake thorough credit analysis, and regularly engage with borrowers and external advisors (legal & financial) to identify and support the optimal resolution.

We are responsible for managing and reporting a large proportion of the Bank\’s Non-Performing Exposure (“NPE”) book, an important metric for all financial institutions.

Key accountabilities:

  1. Support and restructure (where appropriate) customers in financial difficulty. Undertake fundamental credit analysis, intervene early, and participate in credit approval processes and ‘watchlist’ meetings.
  2. Manage the ongoing Credit Risk of a portfolio within FSG UK, ensuring negative trends are identified, escalated, and addressed with appropriate strategies.
  3. Participate actively in syndicated transactions.
  4. Maintain knowledge of macroeconomic, industry, and regulatory trends affecting the portfolio.
  5. Adhere to procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Collaborate across departments and participate in internal groups and forums.
  7. Represent FSG at industry events and develop relationships with external stakeholders.

What you Will Bring:

  1. Ability to problem solve credit issues and develop action plans.
  2. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in credit, portfolio management, or financial advisory roles.
  3. Experience in financial analysis, report writing, and proficiency in Excel.
  4. Understanding of bilateral and syndicated facility documentation and security arrangements is desirable.
  5. Knowledge of macroeconomic and industry trends in international markets.
  6. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  7. Degree-level qualification.
