Do you enjoy talking to people and helping them out? We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and well-organised people to support our patients in their healthcare needs. You will provide administrative and telephone services to our patients, ensuring tasks are undertaken effectively and accurately. The successful candidates will feel confident in working within a team and be committed to assisting our clinical staff to deliver excellent patient experience.
Applicants must have previous administration experience and be fully confident and competent in all aspects of computer-based and telephone work. The ability to work with a wide range of people with a calm, efficient telephone manner is essential, as well as excellent organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential. You should be able to use your own initiative, be team orientated with a flexible approach to work.
You will be based at Hartismere Hospital in Eye, working Monday to Friday - 09:30 - 17:30. On occasion you will be required to travel to attend meetings or cover absences at our other bases.
Main duties of the job:- Make and receive calls to and from members of the public wishing to access our service.
- Input data and information obtained whilst remaining focused upon the caller.
- Book appointments for patients.
- Answer telephone enquiries and take messages where appropriate. This includes talking to patients, family members and carers, members of the health and social care teams, and staff from all levels of the organisation.
- Receive and action as appropriate incoming mail / email / electronic referrals and correspondence.
- Arrange dispatch of outgoing post through our mailing service.
- Manage electronic referrals / patient notes / discharge letters to maintain the electronic system.
- Send and/or scan patient-related documentation following patient contact.
- Input patient data onto the clinical system (SystmOne).
