Are you an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference? AHP Suffolk CIC, in partnership with St Nicholas Hospice Care, is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting people receiving palliative and end‑of‑life care. This is a unique opportunity to work across the community and hospice setting, helping patients live as independently, comfortably, and meaningfully as possible. You will need a full drivers licence or other means of travel between locations.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver specialist, holistic care to patients with complex needs related to life-limiting illness. You will play a key role in supporting people to maintain independence, manage symptoms, and achieve what matters most to them. This vacancy is 0.8 - 1 FTE. We have developed and run U Refer, a successful web‑based self‑referral platform, and single point of referral for secondary care, and offer virtual and face to face clinical appointments, exercise classes and 121 rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
  • Member of the RCOT or equivalent professional liability insurance
  • Evidence of up‑to‑date, relevant CPD

Experience

  • Demonstrable post graduate Occupational therapy knowledge and experience
  • Experience of supervising, coaching and mentoring others
  • Experience of supporting and delivering In‑Service Training programmes
  • Ability to apply developed knowledge and skills in order to demonstrate professional competence and fitness to practice
  • Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of functional ability
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical risk assessment and risk management guidelines
  • Awareness of current legislation
  • Knowledge of primary care and community services
  • Post graduate training in palliative care
