Overview
Ashlong House Domiciliary Care is looking for a competent Support Worker to support physically or mentally challenged customers in their everyday lives. The fulfilment and satisfaction that comes with helping others surpasses the challenges of this job. No experience is required – full training is provided from day one.
Responsibilities
- Support adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions in their own homes
- Assist with skills development
- Administer medication in compliance with local guidelines
- Assist with shopping and activities
- Attend medical appointments
- Provide a caring attitude and willingness to make a difference
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, hard work and honesty
- Employ excellent communication and people skills
- Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude

Main Duties
- Support a set number of Service Users in their own homes
- Record information in documents and service user files daily
- Prepare and serve meals and drinks as required
- Assist with personal care
- Provide emotional support
- Perform necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
- Commit to a training programme in accordance with national requirements and take responsibility for professional development
