Overview

In this role, you will lead hygiene activities to uphold safe working practices and regulatory compliance across the site. You will coordinate plant shutdowns, oversee safety, equipment isolation, and contractor management, while driving improvements in cleaning and mould control. You’ll train and support the Hygiene team and work alongside the Hygiene Front Line Manager to maintain high hygiene standards. This position offers hands-on impact in a fast-paced FMCG environment and contributes to site-wide safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and control hygiene activities and shutdowns; ensure schedules and procedures are followed
  • Identify training needs for the Hygiene team and deliver shift briefings
  • Drive continuous improvement in environmental hygiene and cleaning validation (including mould control)
  • Coordinate on-site waste removal and manage hygiene contractors including pest control
  • Maintain documentation to demonstrate due diligence and compliance
  • Supervise hygiene activities within Safe Systems of Work and COSHH compliance
  • Organise high-level, in-depth cleaning
  • Support plant shutdown planning with the Hygiene Front Line Manager

Key requirements

  • PC literate with strong administration skills
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on standards
  • Ability to work on own initiative and motivate others
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and prioritisation
  • Experience in FMCG environment
  • Experience with Chemical Safety and Pest Control
  • IOSH Managing Safely would be advantageous
  • Competent Microsoft user
