The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

As a skilled operative working across production operations, you will be responsible for producing quality products in line with the Company's standards and procedures, from raw ingredients through to packaging in the manufacturing process, whilst maintaining a safe, clean and fully operational environment. This is a rotational shift pattern rotating between days and nights.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of your area, producing high quality products, whilst maintaining levels of acceptable waste generated by the plant, and disposing in accordance with site's environmental management systems and procedures.
  • Continually review the production operation process, seeking cost saving ideas whilst maintaining the full utilisation of materials and equipment.
  • Prepare plant and equipment for operation in a safe manner and if needed to perform minor maintenance adjustments having the ability to carry out minor repairs, reporting major faults on EAM.
  • Demonstrate your responsibilities in adhering to Allied Bakeries Site Standards and actively contribute to these standards, respecting internal and external audits.
  • Monitor and identify areas of possible product contamination or potential risk to food safety and raise and action accordingly (HACCP) informing the Plant/Shift Manager if you are unable to remove at the earliest opportunity.
  • Follow all instructions, guidance and training given at all times, sharing best practice through cross functional working and adopting what is learnt into the daily routine/role.
  • Contribute as part of a team in assisting to meet the departments Key Performance Indicators and to act outside of the daily schedule and focus on areas for improvement through the plant, quality of product or cost.
  • To be flexible as mobility of labour and interchangeable skills are required for this role.

The Right Person

  • Demonstrate a good level of Health and Food Safety awareness.
  • Numerical, reading and information recording skills.
  • Able to operate plant, equipment or processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in a leadership role i.e. as a Team Leader, and displaying organisational skills.
  • An ability to achieve Basic Food Hygiene, pest awareness and HACCP qualifications.
  • Willing to work shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Understanding of baking process.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2).
  • IOSH or equivalent.
  • A current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • An understanding and application of key elements of food Hygiene/Good Manufacturing Practice (Allied Bakeries Site Standards).
  • Experienced in managing workloads and priorities within a fast-paced workplace.
