We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to support the VMU Manager and help lead a busy workshop team. You'll play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant and on the road - minimising downtime and making sure all work meets legal and operator licence standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture
  • Lead, motivate and support the VMU team.
  • Coach and develop the team including training apprentices.
  • Make sure all vehicles are inspected, serviced and repaired to company standard and legal requirements under our Operators Licence are met
  • Ensure maintenance paperwork is completed accurately and on time
  • Keep workshop stock at the right levels and manage parts, fuel etc to maximise efficiency.
  • Create and manage service maintenance schedules

The Right Person

  • Essential City & Guilds Level 3/4 in HGV/LGV Maintenance & Repair
  • Experience as a commercial vehicle technician
  • Good knowledge of diagnostic equipment (DAF, Iveco or similar), electrical systems and tail lifts
  • willing to work shifts (Days and lates rota finishing by 9pm)

Desirable

  • Supervisory experience
  • C + E license
