We're looking for a skilled VMU Technician to join our Belfast workshop. You'll be hands-on every day, inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles, trailers and related equipment - working to set schedules and safe working procedures to keep the fleet moving. You would be working a dates/lates rotational shift pattern. This is a solid role with good pay and benefits working within a great team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintenance and repairs are carried out to meet company and VOSA standards.
  • Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.
  • Achieve shift KPI's by working in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Comply with safety procedures, highlighting any non-compliance issues.
  • Assist the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM to liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments about vehicle availability.
  • To ensure that established sub-contractors are effectively utilised.

The Right Person

  • Essential
    • Good interpersonal and communications skills
    • City and Guilds/NVQ LGV/HGV Qualifications Level 3/4
    • Good knowledge of diagnostic equipment (Daf & Iveco or similar)
    • Good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems
    • Good knowledge with vehicle tail lifts
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Previous experience welding and fabrication
    • Full clean driving license
  • Desirable
    • Previous experience in HGV fleet maintenance operations
    • Good planning and organisational skills
    • Irtec trained
    • C + E license
