The Engineering Reliability Technician is responsible for maintaining, improving, and developing the bakery's manufacturing equipment and site services to ensure maximum operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. This is a day shift role Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. This role combines hands-on electrical engineering support with leadership of continuous improvement (CI), preventative maintenance strategies, and engineering projects across a high-volume food production environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving asset reliability, driving engineering standards, and supporting operational performance. They will facilitate knowledge transfer to both maintenance and operations staff by training and coaching.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with Legal & Company Standards.
- Compile Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Statutory checks, audits of toolboxes, priority risk areas and jobs
- Manage Contractors
- Carry out Priority Risk Audits
- Participate and lead improvement activities with teams
- Liaise with Shift teams to understand recent failure modes on plant.
- Absence cover for managers
The Right Person
- Recognised Engineering apprenticeship - Level 3 Electrical
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a skilled engineer
- 18th IET Wiring Regulations
- A dual Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship would be desirable.
- Problem solving and fault diagnosis.
- Experience with PLCs
