Looking for a role where you can make a real operational impact? Join Allied Bakeries as a Logistics Co-ordinator at our Gateshead site and play a key role in keeping our outbound transport and despatch operation running safely, smoothly and on time.
Working closely with our Transport and Supply Chain teams, you will coordinate a busy fleet of around 35 Class C and Class CE drivers, supporting delivery performance while promoting safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

The role:
- Coordinate daily transport and despatch activity to support safe, legal and on-time deliveries
- Support and coordinate Class C and Class CE drivers, including agency drivers
- Promote a zero-harm safety culture, supporting compliance with health, safety and transport requirements
- Manage workflow on the despatch floor, including order fill, stock movement and delivery schedules
- Ensure accurate and timely administration using SAP, WMS, PDI and Work Planner
- Support driver rotas and day-to-day people coordination
- Work collaboratively with Transport, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams
- Provide operational cover for First Line Managers and other Co-ordinators when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency, service and ways of working
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in logistics, transport or despatch operations, ideally within a fast-paced environment
- Confidence coordinating drivers and operational activity while maintaining safety and service standards
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage changing demands
- IT capability, including Excel and Word, with experience (or the ability to quickly learn) systems such as SAP, WMS or similar
- Clear and effective communication skills, with a calm, practical and solutions-focused approach
- Experience in a supervisory or coordination role, and/or exposure to FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environments, would be beneficial
