The main function of this role is to deliver bakery products to our customers. You will be responsible for in-store merchandising, ordering and minimising waste. Hours of work will be based on a rotating shift pattern across a 7 day week with start time to be confirmed (flexibility will be required). This is a physically demanding role and requires the individual to have the physical ability to deliver tasks.
Key Accountabilities:
- Engage in the Safety-First culture and compliance with AB internal policies and procedures.
- Daily vehicle checks.
- Maintain and comply with tachograph records, company key control procedures and working time regulations.
- Maximise sales and contribute to sales growth of the company brands.
- Develop close working relations with key decision makers within store.
- Check load against interim load summary and amend for any variances.
- Ensure all products are correctly charged to the relevant customer and record any returns.
- Ensure products are delivered on time and in full within the agreed time windows.
- Daily collection of all baskets.
- Any returns collected must be returned to the bakery for disposal on a daily basis.
- Actively participate and contribute in the sharing of Best Practice within the Sales Team.
The Right Person:
- Category B license and provisional Category C license
- Currently undertaking the required LGV theory and practical training and fully committed to gaining the full Category C qualification.
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
- Willing to work shifts (48hrs p/w structured as 6 working days wk 1 and 4 working days wk 2, 3am starts)
- Experienced Professional Driver Category 2 (Category C)
- Experience of delivering to, or of working in a sales environment
- Merchandising experience
- Experienced Professional Driver Category 1 (Category C +E)
