Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well‑known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Overview Of Role

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Salary: circa £56000

Hours: Monday – Friday 10am – 6:30pm (42 hours per week)

About the Role

At Allied Bakeries, we’re looking for a passionate and driven logistics FLM to lead our Transport and Despatch teams. Reporting to the Logistics Lead, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products are safely prepared and delivered to customers on time and in full. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is motivated by coaching teams, driving performance, and delivering meaningful improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving a “Safety First” culture across all operations
  • Supporting risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work are followed
  • Ensuring full compliance with H&S standards, policies, and legislation
  • Setting clear performance goals and ensuring teams are engaged and motivated
  • Leading, coaching, and developing teams to achieve shift objectives
  • Managing attendance, performance, and conduct in partnership with HR and unions
  • Supporting recruitment, training, and development of team members
  • Maintaining compliance with QAS and food safety standards
  • Ensuring all goods are accurately prepared, loaded, secured, and documented
  • Taking ownership of product integrity, traceability, and withdrawal processes
  • Managing and controlling shift costs (labour, absence, waste, damage, etc.)
  • Driving continuous improvement and leading positive change initiatives
