The Role
This role sits within the Direct Procurement team and reports to the Senior Procurement Manager for Packaging. It is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the packaging portfolio across Allied Milling & Baking (Allied Bakeries / Allied Mills / Speedibake). The role holder will manage a portfolio of categories end-to-end, covering supplier search and selection, negotiation and award, price forecasting, project management and issue resolution. They will also handle New Vendor Management across all Procurement categories.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and develop the portfolio through best practice procurement processes such as Category planning and e-Sourcing.
- Negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers.
- Report cost and value improvement.
- Manage supplier relationships to deliver service, cost, quality and supply data.
- Manage stakeholder relationships.
- Ensure prices and forecasts are maintained accurately and to business deadlines.
- Uphold the ethical standards of Procurement and the business.
- Manage day-to-day supply issues.
- Support the function and wider business on the implementation of other projects.
- Support continuous improvement in reporting processes and administrative elements of the role.
The Right Person
- The role holder will be expected to work towards CIPS accreditation if not already qualified.
- Excellent numeric, analytical and literacy skills.
- PC literacy including Windows, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good presentation skills.
- Ability to travel – must have a full valid driving licence.
