We deliver shared‑service activities across disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.
As a member of the IS Grocery Service team, the Technical Services Manager will lead the Technical Function to deliver our software development and data management initiatives. The Technical Services Manager will provide strategic leadership, manage technical teams and create innovative data‑driven solutions that achieve business goals. The Technical Services Manager is part of the overall IS Leadership Team and manages multiple IS technical services teams and stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage technical teams, including software developers, data engineers, data analysts and database administrators, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
- Oversee the design, development and deployment of software solutions that address business needs, collaborating with business stakeholders, developers and system experts to ensure effective delivery.
- Define and implement a data strategy that supports acquisition, storage, integration, analysis and reporting, and develop data governance policies to ensure quality and security.
- Enable data‑driven decision‑making by providing accurate, timely and actionable insights to business stakeholders, working with analysts and data scientists.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning and big data to create innovative products and solutions that drive growth.
- Plan and oversee development and data projects, setting milestones, managing resources and ensuring timely delivery while reporting progress and managing risks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, business managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical efforts and business goals, and communicate technical updates, progress and challenges effectively.
The Right Person
- Proven experience (5+ years) in leadership roles involving software development, data management or a related field.
- Strong technical background with experience in software development methodologies, data engineering, analytics and database management.
- Experience in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide technical teams.
- Proficiency in project management with a track record of delivering complex software and data projects on time.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in software development and data management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL and data‑related certifications.
