Role Overview
Experienced Maintenance Electrician needed for Hovis Bakeries, Liverpool. Shift work (4-on, 4-off). Salary £55,515.48 per annum.

Shifts 4-on, 4-off (42 hours).
- Key Accountabilities
- Maintain plant and equipment, diagnosing faults and installing, repairing, inspecting, calibrating and overhauling plant/machinery electrically and mechanically to maximise machine availability.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice, health & safety legislation, and company standards.
- Focus on safe working practices and site performance KPIs including OEE and CCOs.
- Diagnose and correct automation, electrical and mechanical issues to resolve breakdowns as qualified and authorised.
- Perform planned maintenance, modifications, installations, and upgrades to plant machinery and site services.
- Ensure engineering strategy is delivered consistently.
- Deliver turn‑key improvement projects in a timely and cost‑efficient manner.
- Drive the performance of the Engineering function forward.
- Other duties reasonably corresponding to the general character of the role.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent trade accreditation.
- Knowledge of C&G 2382 BS 7671 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Recognised time‑served electrically biased apprenticeship in a relevant engineering (electrical) discipline.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering (desirable).
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrical/multi‑skilled engineering craftsperson/technician.
- Practical experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing engineering function.
- Strong problem‑solving and fault diagnosis skills.
- Ability to maintain high standards and make sound decisions under pressure.
Skills & Knowledge
- Health & Safety requirements for engineering.
- Working knowledge of CMMS.
- Broad understanding of engineering disciplines.
- Strong decision‑making skills and flexibility to work independently or in a team.
- PC literate and comfortable with technical documentation.
- Knowledge of bakery production, maintenance techniques, continuous improvement, PLC control systems, and automated machinery.
