Working as a key member of the Accounting Services team, this role is responsible for processing period end accounts, maintaining strong controls and balance sheet focus. Working collaboratively across the Finance community to deliver results on time, this is a varied role within a busy general accounting shared service function.
Role Details:
- Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
- Salary: Competitive
- Contract: Full Time, Hybrid Working - 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home (after training and subject to business needs)
- Contract Type: Fixed Term 12-18 months
Key Accountabilities:
- Run and support period end processes with support from Central Finance Manager.
- Focus on controls across the GL process and balance/site-related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support accurate completion of VAT and other statutory returns.
- Process accurate reconciliation of intercompany transactions across numerous ABF businesses.
- Foreign currency management, including hedge accounting.
- Working capital and cash flow reporting and analysis.
- Discount analysis, reporting and controls.
- Further reporting requirements from other Finance Teams.
- Build strong relationships with Central and site-based Finance teams across ABF, particularly around Treasury and Tax.
The Right Person:
- Highly detail-oriented and organised, consistently meeting accounting deadlines.
- Strong communicator and effective relationship builder across varied stakeholders.
- Solid technical expertise with a strong understanding of controls and processes.
- Compliance-focused, with clear awareness of internal and external reporting deadlines (VAT, HMRC).
- Advanced Excel skills; SAP proficiency desirable.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards (IFRS 9, 15, 16) advantageous.
- Ideally professionally qualified with 1–3 years’ PQE.
