We're looking for a commercially sharp, hands-on operator to bring project discipline, financial rigour, and continuous improvement to our operations enterprise-wide.
About the role
Acting as an extension of the CEO and Head of Operations, this role provides independent challenge and assurance across project costings, delivery economics, and capital deployment — while driving continuous improvement across the business. You'll own outcomes rather than day-to-day execution, delegating implementation to functional teams while leading a small direct team for analysis and delivery.
What you'll own:
Project Control & Governance
- Set enterprise standards for project planning, CAPEX approval, and reporting
- Independently review and challenge scope, timelines, and cost assumptions across NPD, CAPEX, and customer delivery
- Provide decision-ready recommendations to the CEO where projects are at risk
- Partner with Finance to validate costings, margins, and ROI across delivery and CAPEX investments
- Identify cost leakage, margin erosion, and efficiency opportunities
CAPEX & Investment Oversight
- Lead CAPEX governance from business case through to benefits realisation
- Track spend, ROI, and payback versus approved plans; elevate risks early
- Work with the Enterprise Cost, Efficiencies and Automation Manager to root out inefficiencies
- Embed improvements into everyday operations — not just one-off projects
Executive Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Division Heads, and Finance Managers
- Influence functional leaders (NPD, Commercial/Procurement, Operations) without direct authority
- Deliver clear, decision-ready reporting to the CEO and, where required, the Board
What you'll bring:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or Engineering (MBA a plus, especially with a strategy, finance, or operations focus)
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA and/or PMP / PRINCE2 (or equivalent experience)
- A proven track record in enterprise project control, programme oversight, or transformation environments
- Experience embedding improvements into BAU, not just delivering one-off projects
- Experience working directly with CEO/COO/CFO level, Boards, or investors
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience validating costings and ROI
- The confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively and operate without direct authority
- Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodology experience is a plus
