Role Description

Allica Bank is looking for a Resilience Lead who will be responsible for shaping, coordinating and advancing the bank\’s disaster recovery capabilities, ensuring critical systems and processes remain resilient and aligned to the business needs.

You will work closely with IT SME’s and business stakeholders, providing both technical and strategic direction. The role will involve leading the development of business impact analysis, disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, policies, plans, working with auditors and regulators, and driving maturity of disaster recovery practices across the organisation. You will also play a key role in aligning with the wider operational resilience objectives within the Bank.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Own and drive the development of the bank’s Disaster Recovery framework, ensuring policies, standards and practices are comprehensive, current and embedded across teams.
  • Lead the design and execution of disaster recovery strategies for critical IT systems, with a focus on cloud-hosted environments.
  • Coordinate and run disaster recovery testing exercises, ensuring results are captured, analysed and used to continually raise maturity
  • Oversee the documentation of systems and runbooks, ensuring they are accurate, risk-aligned and easy to follow in practice.
  • Act as primary contact for internal & external auditors and regulators on matters relating to disaster recovery, ensuring Allica demonstrates compliance and best practice
  • Monitor the effectiveness of DR practices, identifying gaps and leading remediation activities
  • Support cross-functional initiatives with Security, Risk, Compliance and business units to embed resilience principles into change and project delivery.
  • Champion a culture of resilience, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the bank.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Proven expertise in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity disciplines with hands on experience conducting business impact analysis and designing and implementing DR solutions in complex IT environments. (Azure experience preferred)
  • Proactive and delivery focused, able to balance strategic vision with practical execution. Someone who takes ownership and gets things done
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly across the business.
  • Confident in engaging auditors and regulators and able to represent the bank with credibility and clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with DR, BCP and operational resilience best practices, methodologies and trends.
