About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Department Description

In 2023, Allica launched an innovative new Growth Finance product which delivers working capital funding with facility sizes between £1m-£10m. Growth Finance was the first differentiated lending product that Allica introduced and complements the excellent reputation we have already gained. We are building a team of specialists who will be instrumental in continuing to build on the exciting success already achieved.

Role Description

The Growth Finance Relationship Manager will be responsible as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering a close working relationship based on a deep understanding of each client’s business. In addition to the service and relationship aspects, the role will also have responsibility for the ongoing financial and collateral information provided by each client and ensuring management of and reporting on the credit risk for each.

Principal Accountabilities

  • The main point of contact with, and responsibility for, a portfolio of clients.
  • Supporting clients whilst also being responsible for risk management in respect of those clients.
  • Working collaboratively with the business development team to ensure that new clients are onboarded and transitioned to the RM portfolio in a seamless manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required client information is received in a timely manner, and compliantly saved, recorded and reviewed.
  • Contribute to the production of monthly portfolio reports which provide an accurate and comprehensive summary of client financial performance, covenant compliance and collateral overview.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any new or increased GF client risks are escalated where appropriate and without delay. Such escalation will detail the issue, cause(s) and recommended course of action.
  • Engagement with other relevant functional areas of the bank, particularly Risk and Operations to ensure effective collaboration and awareness of changes in policies/processes.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless and professional service is always provided, and to provide ongoing direction as to where Allica’s product and software development should focus to provide greatest benefit to customers and efficiency over time.
  • Be an advocate for the product with colleagues throughout the bank.
  • Complying with all mandatory policies and develop and adhere to operational procedures to maintain a strong internal control environment.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • A belief that there is an opportunity to build a significantly improved working capital lending solution to the target mid-market and a desire to innovate through a hands-on approach, working as part of a small team. Initiative and resilience will be key personal attributes.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • An understanding of working capital financing in the SME sector. Knowledge of facility structuring and documentation.
  • You understand the operational aspects of business finance, including receivables and Asset Based Lending.
  • Experience of assessing and monitoring a broad range of collateral classes including receivables, inventory, real estate and other fixed assets. Knowledge of the risks, mitigants and controls that apply to each and escalation steps which can be taken to increase control over these assets in the event of deterioration of client risk.
  • Able to interpret detailed financial information including balance sheet and cash forecasting, assess funding requirements and model the impact of sensitivities to such forecasts.

Desirable:
